Visits: All kinds of groups visit the museum ranging from U3A to car clubs. We can easily seat up to 40 in our cafe and can cope with coach tours up to 55. We have a really fascinating story to tell about something we all live with but few know anything about!
A typical group visit includes a guided tour of the museum and refreshments and takes approximately 2 hours. We can also offer lunch as part of the trip.
" Visited today with the Watford Industrial & History Society and would like to say how much I enjoyed my visit. What you have done to the Brickworks is fantastic."
"Brilliant tour and the cakes and tea were great. We will spread the word."
For a more detailed study trip we have a large archive of bricks, brick making machinery and clay building material as well as the old factory complex.
There are lots of opportunities for sharing a visit with other local attractions. Within easy reach are: Bursledon Windmill - a working traditional windmill. and Swanwick Nature Reserve - our old claypits now flooded to form a series of lakes. Further afield there is a wealth of steam and industrial heritage to be found in Hampshire so why not make a day or weekend of it.
The museum is also brilliant for Artists and Photography groups. There is so much to inspire you.
Talks: We can also come to you. Why not ask for one of the team to come and talk to your group? Our most popular talk concentrates on the history of the brickworks and is called '20 Million Bricks'.
